About the Lake Harriet Dance Center

In 1980 the Lake Harriet Dance Center opened in the Linden Hills Area and, after fifteen years, moved to it’s current location on Lyndale near 66th.  Since it opened, the studio has grown and matured into one of Minneapolis’ most reputable dance centers. This well-rounded studio nurtures and trains dancers from 4 years old through adult. The staff believes that, in addition to training dancers, they are instilling in the students not only a love of dance, but also a sense of self-worth and accomplishment.  Because the Dance Center endorses the philosophy that dance is an art form, not a sport, the studio does not perform in competitions. The children also perform in 2 recitals; Winter and Spring. Everything we put into teaching, nurturing, and giving performances gives continuity to the students, offering a broad range of classes, allowing them the opportunity to grow.
